Post-Covid tracheal resection – first case in India

Prolonged intubations result in tracheal damage and stenosis, the treatment for severe cases is resection anastomosis. With progress of Covid-19 pandemic, this incidence kept rising but timing precautions such aerosolising surgeries remained unclear. To report first case anastomosis India done during pandemic along with its rationale. We a 30/male prolonged intubation tracheostomy pneumonia ARDS failure to decannulate complete loss voice. After thorough preoperative work-up, he underwent 4 rings cricotracheal covid-19 October 2020. He was extubated on table asymptomatic after 3 months follow-up excellent good team effort appropriate precautions, airway can be safely performed.
